The newest product of this effort is the publication compiled from the meeting held with the participation of Doğan Hasol in 2016.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAbout Doğan Hasol:\u003cbr\u003eDoğan Hasol was born in 1937. He graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1956 and from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture in 1961. In 1961, he joined the group that published the Architecture and Art Magazine. In addition to his assistantship at Istanbul Technical University, he served as the Editor-in-Chief of Mimarlık, the magazine of the Chamber of Architects; he held various positions on the Executive Boards of the Chamber of Architects. In 1968, together with a group of friends, he founded the Building-Industry Center (Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi), which is an information center in the construction field. He was elected President of the International Union of Building Centres (UICB) twice (1989-1992, 1992-1995), and later became an Honorary Member.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUntil April 2013, when he was at the head of the Building-Industry Center, in line with the institution's function as an information center, he pioneered the publication of professional catalogs, especially the Building Catalog, architectural and art books, in addition to YAPI Magazine, the organization of courses, conferences, seminars, and the establishment of the Virtual Architecture Museum. For his publishing activities, he was awarded the Press-Publication Award by the Turkish Association of Independent Architects for the 1994\/95 period. They were actively engaged in architectural practice during a period when the traditionalist architectural approach, which had gained momentum within the framework of the Second National Architecture movement in the 1940s, was waning. In the 1950s and 60s, within the socio-economic and political context of the time, they were pioneering figures of an approach that turned towards international contemporary architecture and regenerated rationalist perspectives. They are two important names who not only participated in this transformation in architecture but also triggered it, succeeding without promoting themselves as figures through various means such as architectural media, schools, or organizations. In their 26-year professional partnership from 1952 to 1978, they produced high-quality works, if not quantitative, including approximately 20 buildings, 5 urban planning projects, and 21 competition projects entered either together or with different teams. Their most significant work in architectural literature is the Lawyers' Site (Hukukçular Sitesi) in Mecidiyeköy, Istanbul, where they introduced a unique and experimental approach to high-rise residential design. Unlike the German-speaking architects who came to Turkey as 'exiles' fleeing Europe's tense political climate, Egli was invited from Vienna by Clemens Holzmeister's suggestion.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe was appointed as the chief architect responsible for the design of schools where modern individuals of the Republic would be educated, within the Ministry of National Education, and undertook the tasks of \"organizing and improving their programs, giving lectures, and teaching\" at the Academy of Fine Arts. Egli's innovations at the Academy, such as student admission through an entrance exam, extending the duration of education to five years, and curriculum changes, shaped architectural education in Turkey. This path was shaped by starting his design work in Side and encountering the two-thousand-year history of the Mediterranean, which in a sense has become a timeless accumulation. In later years of his profession, he would experience the process of enriching the intellectual infrastructure of this conceptual model. In this context, Gürsel's designs always revolve around the concepts of \"time and timelessness\" and \"history and space\" around the place and time; he re-searches them, re-tests them, creates images, deconstructs them, re-creates them, and generates symbols. He questions time, seeks timelessness, connects times, and perhaps, withdraws. This model of seeing and thinking, which began in his early works, exemplifies the difficult line of reviving past settlement patterns in his memory and designing spontaneity without falling into affectation. What is truly important is the existence of a structure that, almost as if it doesn't want to declare itself designed, appears spontaneous. His subsequent designs are works that elevated Gürsel's architectural concept to a higher level of consciousness.
