The wide interest and repercussions this book received prompted us to develop this culture within a series we called 'Architecture's Nutritional Fields,' and secondly, we prepared the multi-authored, collective book 'Architecture in Cinema.' Not stopping there, we prepared another multi-authored book titled Architecture in Contemporary Literature, and thus the architectural library gradually became enriched. All the selections created a wide echo and led to a change in discourse in almost every field, including faculties providing architectural education and professional chambers. Many faculty members and architects, intellectuals, began to write space-themed essays, critiques, reviews, literary works, commentaries, and analyses. It was understood that the art of architecture is something beyond average technical education. At this stage, there was one last and very important step we needed to take for our desire to evolve towards a new architectural thought and climate, which was to bring the contributions of great thinkers who had directly endeavored, pondered, produced works, and created doctrines for 'Architectural Thought' to the architectural environment.

The 'Architecture in Philosophy' selection was prepared for this purpose and took its place in the literature as the most comprehensive resource book in this field with the contributions of many competent faculty members from respected universities across the country, as well as architects and writers. In the book Architecture in Philosophy, rather than following a systematic, methodological, and academic philosophical track, an effort has been made to provide basic information and notions that will enable every reader who has received an average architectural education or is intellectually interested in architectural culture to have an idea about the thinkers who have contributed to architectural thought. Undoubtedly, our greatest wish was for our esteemed authors and professors to write freely, and we did not attempt to interfere with their style and examination models. Therefore, the writings and examinations reflect more than a single style or manner. In this way, as has always been the case in all the selections in this series, we prioritized obtaining a 'mosaic' book, a polyphonic selection, a wide repertoire, and an average notion.

We hope that 'Architecture in Philosophy', as the most comprehensive study done in this field to date, will open new and beautiful doors to architectural thought, environment, and future.”

“Architecture in Cinema,” prepared for publication by Hikmet Temel Akarsu, Nevnihal Erdoğan, and Türkiz Özbursalı, has been re-released by YEM Yayın with updated content, cover design, and dimensions.

“Architecture in Cinema” was prepared with the belief that an increased artistic and cultural emphasis in the sources that nourish architecture and design will play a significant role in developing society's aesthetic perceptions, and that designers following this path will be able to utilize their imagination in a much more striking way.
With this approach, magnificent works from world and Turkish cinema by directors such as Christopher Nolan, Yavuz Turgul, Peter Jackson, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, and Lars von Trier, including "My Architect," "Playtime," "Winter Sleep," "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Muhsin Bey," "Cloud Atlas," "The Matrix," and "The Lord of the Rings," were analyzed by expert writers. Undeniably, in the future, there will be those who write and critique these works with much higher quality writing, but it will maintain its characteristic of being the most comprehensive study conducted in contemporary Turkish and world literature in this field to date for a long time... In this selection, we expanded our consultations into very different areas. We gathered opinions from publishers, editors, poets, the architectural intelligentsia, and various literary circles. As a result, among the works we chose, striving for objectivity, there will be some that will truly seem to the reader 'as if they have nothing to do with architecture.' The explanation for why these choices were made stems from the perception that architecture does not consist solely of structural elements. Such that the emotion, scent, aesthetics, chaos, soul, color, flower, language, rituals, history, customs, and traditions of a city can sometimes be components of architecture, creating a different and insatiable aesthetic.
