Gazi Institute of Education, Village Institutes; art, industry, and vocational schools; engineering and architecture schools such as Istanbul Technical University and Middle East Technical University; fine arts and applied arts academies all adopted Bauhaus principles and were established by cadres trained according to them. Even today, the organization of contemporary education and the rapid rise of design culture in Turkey still bear the traces of Bauhaus. Bauhaus: The Design of Modernization includes the papers presented at the \"Architecture, Art, Design Education in Turkey and Bauhaus\" Symposium, organized to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the School of Applied Fine Arts, which formed the core of today's Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts and was founded in 1957 by German and Turkish Bauhaus members.
