Otherwise, it is impossible to form a bond of love. Our first duty towards a city is to know it in its past and present. I would like to point out that the reprinting of Prof. Dr. Ruşen Keleş's work, titled \"A City Typology in Old Ankara\" (Ankara, 1971, 210 pp), which he published about our ancient and valuable Ankara, 47 years after its first edition, is a source of great joy. Professor Keleş continues to make valuable contributions to Turkish scholarly life with his lectures.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe book stands out as a unique study about the citadel, which is the unchanging heart of Ankara. For anyone living in Ankara or wishing to know this city, this book should be seen as the primary guide. I once again extend my gratitude to my esteemed mentor, Ruşen Keleş, who wrote this valuable book about the city that lives within me and in which I live—a city I miss on the third day in every city I see, East and West, around the world.
