He was appointed as an assistant at the Department of Building Science in the same faculty, passed his proficiency exam in 1949, became an associate professor in 1958, a full professor in 1968, and retired in 1988. During his 42-year tenure, Abdullah Sarı served as a faculty member at institutions such as ITU Faculty of Architecture, Maçka Technical School, Maçka Faculty of Architecture, Işık School of Architecture and Engineering, Trabzon University Faculty of Architecture, and Ankara School of Architecture and Engineering.
