And is it possible to determine a date for its end? Answering these questions is not easy, even if the historical period covered by this research can be delimited according to various turning points. For this reason, the present study essentially proposes a chronological line of development. It analyzes Greek art within a certain temporal consistency, starting with the pre-Hellenic period, followed by protogreek, geometric, and archaic styles, and then classicist trends. In doing so, it examines different creative realms, from painting to sculpture, architecture to ceramics and mosaics, within their distinct integrities.
