Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi (YEM), established in 1968, served as an information center for the construction world for 50 years; it created platforms that brought together manufacturers in the sector with those who needed these products and services, and produced unique services specific to the sector. YEM Yayın (YEM Publications) and YEM Kitabevi (YEM Bookstore) are among the most important cornerstones of YEM.

 

YEM Bookstore is Turkey's only specialized bookstore, offering tens of thousands of Turkish and English books prepared by experts in fields such as architecture, interior design, design, engineering, urbanism, urban planning, environment, culture, and art from leading publishing houses in Turkey and around the world, including pioneering YEM Yayın books, as well as Arketon and Ninova.

 

YEM Bookstore also offers services such as customized library installations for individuals and institutions, setting up mobile sales stands at universities, fairs, and sectoral events; organizing conferences, talks, and similar events in conjunction with these stands; and wholesale book sales and distribution. YEM Bookstore also provides corporate solutions such as research on imported and domestic publications, maintaining communication with publishing houses, tracking purchasing and procurement processes, carrying out import procedures for timely delivery of publications in English or other languages, establishing specialized libraries with desired concepts and content for individuals and institutions, selecting and procuring domestic and foreign publications, and providing publication support by regularly informing about new releases after installation.

YEM Yayın (YEM Publications) holds a very special and important place in the field of architecture publishing in Turkey, with its uninterrupted work for 50 years to make lasting contributions to the Turkish architectural environment and to provide a widespread platform for knowledge sharing on intellectual and technical issues. Since 1968, it has published over 300 books as an international publisher in the fields of architecture, design, culture, and art. The main goal of YEM Yayın is to continue its services by expanding its publication range with new titles, products, and communication methods.

 

Immediately after the YEM Board of Directors decided to cease its activities, Yapımevi Yayıncılık İletişim Ltd. Şti. was established in January 2018 under the leadership of Mesut Kaya, Manager of YEM Yayın and Kitabevi. It took over YEM Yayın and YEM Kitabevi, which were among YEM's 50-year cornerstones, and continues its efforts to take them even further. The same team that worked for nearly 20 years under the umbrella of YEM Yayın and YEM Kitabevi, with the same books, the same authors, and business partners, ensured the uninterrupted continuation of activities. The experienced team, a result of the solidarity of publication managers, editors, designers, IT, logistics, marketing, and sales specialists, is determined to continue developing its activities without compromising the founding and operating principles of YEM.
