He explains that designers, whose image worlds are enriched by the architectural universes created in the fields of literature, cinema, philosophy, opera, and ballet, can develop and reach the intellectual level where "architecture is not just about building structures"...

AYKUT KÖKSAL
" 'Space' in Every Context: An Autobiographical Talk"
In his conference, Aykut Köksal will discuss the phenomenon of "space," which plays a constructive role in various disciplines. Taking his own intellectual journey from the 1970s to the present as a central theme, Köksal will explain "spatiality" in the contexts of architecture, cinema, theater, visual arts, contemporary art, music, novels, and poetry, as well as "synchronicity" as a generative concept.

Friday, March 6: 12:30-14:00
GÜRKAN AKAY – ÖNDER KUL
"Witnessing the Last 30 Years of Contemporary Turkish Architecture"
Gürkan Akay is an architect and photographer who, from the days he began his architectural education, observed the built environment through an architect's eyes and simultaneously documented it with his lens. Önder Kul, much like Banu Uçak, is a "Yıldızlı" architect and one of the architects of many structures that Akay witnessed and documented on site. While sharing their thoughts and experiences regarding architecture, the two architects will also engagingly convey the relationship between the architect who designs a building and the architect who visualizes and communicates that built structure to the public.
