1919-2019 Samsun Centenary Architecture Talks

In May 2019, the 100th anniversary of the War of Independence, the book "Centennial Talks," one of the event series organized by the Samsun Branch of the Chamber of Architects of TMMOB, was published.

The book emerged from the collection of presentations made at meetings held in collaboration between the Samsun Branch of the Chamber of Architects and the Ondokuz Mayıs University Department of Architecture as part of the 100th-anniversary celebrations, upon Ayşen Savaş's suggestion. From the outset, the talks were not limited to architecture; in an era where globalization is widely discussed and the boundaries of the architectural field are increasingly expanding, it was planned for the talks to proceed through a multidisciplinary context. For this reason, speakers from various fields such as politics, history, sociology, and urban design, in addition to architecture, participated.
