Step-by-Step Design Ideas

YEM Yayın has released the "Step by Step" series, which has been eagerly awaited for some time and serves as a fundamental reference for architecture, interior architecture, and landscape architecture students.

The series, consisting of four books titled Design Ideas - Design Methods - Structural Systems - Building Materials, is recommended to be read together for narrative coherence and complements each other in terms of content. Its aim is to meticulously present the basic problems encountered in the processes within different activity and expertise areas of the architectural discipline, the factors influencing these processes, and the main approaches and principles developed for solutions, with easy-to-understand explanations and insightful suggestions.

"Design Ideas," the first book in the series, focuses on the initial stage of the architectural design process, offering suggestions and tips to help designers generate ideas for solving a design problem.

Bert Bielefeld, who prepared the book for publication, offers the following insights:

The elements we have addressed separately in the book (context, function, design, material, and structure) to show you how to arrive at the first design idea interact closely throughout the design process, forming a complex system of relationships and conditions.
