A City in Limbo / Urban Architectural Openings for Istanbul

This book is the result of conversations among a group of academics. This group consists of individuals concerned with urban problems, particularly those of Istanbul. We identified our fundamental common ground in our work as an understanding of "egalitarian and participatory planning in the city." The idea of being a technical, scientific, and social pact alongside other efforts and works in this direction was also influential in the creation of the book.

In this unequal world we live in, while everything changes and transforms, cities are also constantly changing and transforming within their own specifics. Humanity itself, along with our aging planet, pays the price for this dynamism. While it is indeed a difficult task to redirect this irresistible movement in a positive direction, everyone's contributions and actions in this regard are very valuable.
