Another Aesthetic

Badiou's guide, which explores "another aesthetics," is an attempt to read aesthetics not as a sub-discipline of philosophy, but as a philosophy in itself, inherent in the aesthetic products. To this end, the author traverses poetry, dance, theater, and cinema, and returns to poetry, pursuing the philosophy of art, or rather, the philosophy of artists, particularly Mallarmé, Pessoa, and Beckett. Another aesthetics: an aesthetics that is no longer aesthetic. An aesthetics positioned against the current place of sensibility. Perhaps an aesthetics that can only be created by passing through aesthetics.
