The "Regulation on Design, Analysis, and Construction Principles of Steel Structures (ÇYTHYE)," published in 2016 and subsequently updated, created a serious need for resources in this field.
This book has been prepared as an additional resource for both students in civil engineering education and professional steel structure designers. The fundamental steps for designing steel structural elements and connections in accordance with the new regulation are summarized in flowcharts, with references to the regulation itself. Information and formulations already present in the regulation are not repeated here. Numerical examples are used to clarify both the behavior of steel elements and the application of the regulation, and all numerical applications have been performed for both Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) and Allowable Stress Design (ASD) methods. Care has been taken to ensure that the numerical applications in the book are practical examples that may be encountered. The applications have been enriched with structural system drawings and three-dimensional views to help students understand them more easily.
