Istanbul Planning Reports from the Republican Period 1934 - 1995

Cumhuriyet Dönemi İstanbul Planlama Raporları 1934-1995 (Republic Period Istanbul Planning Reports 1934-1995), published by the Istanbul Metropolitan Branch of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey (TMMOB), is an important reference book that brings together planning reports that can be described as cornerstones of Istanbul's urban planning history during the Republican era. It emerged from a suggestion by Şener Özler and his meticulous work over many years collecting relevant documents, and is, in his words, a "documentary compilation". Following Şener Özler's passing, Yıldız Uysal and Cevad Özdil's efforts led to the publication of this work in February 2007. The book is a valuable resource where anyone interested in Istanbul's urban, urbanism, and planning history, as well as Republican era planning policies and approaches in Turkey, can find primary sources, reports, documents, and finally, in the appendix section, some important articles related to Istanbul's planning, all in one place.
