Introduction to the Design of Earthquake-Resistant Buildings

The design of earthquake-resistant structures is one of the important areas of Civil Engineering. This book, "Introduction to the Design of Earthquake-Resistant Buildings," was created by compiling the author's lecture notes. The book aims to explain and remind civil engineering students and practicing engineers of the fundamental concepts of designing earthquake-resistant systems, based on regulatory rules. Since computer programs are mostly used in the solution of structural systems today, some examples in the book have also been solved using the SAP2000 general-purpose structural analysis program, which is widely used in our country. The book, including all writing and drawing, was created by the author through an intensive work process. Considering this, it is hoped that readers will tolerate possible shortcomings. All criticism and opinions that readers convey to the author will be gladly received by the author and considered important contributions for future editions. In preparing the book, the author benefited from many sources. The author considers it a duty to thank those who prepared these valuable works. The author hopes that the book will be useful to Civil Engineering students and Civil Engineers working on the subject.
