Indeed, digital or "paperless" tools, systems, and publication platforms have been integrated into archaeological projects for several years, and this approach shows no signs of diminishing. In this critical period, moving from early experiments in digital archaeology to more established and widely adopted practices, it is the perfect time for reconsideration. After decades of almost frantic technological innovation, it is time to slow down, step back, and reassess how new technologies impact the interpretation and ethics of archaeological practices.
