In the world of architecture, in the academic part of the profession, never deviating from design paths, never changing direction or position, is at least associated with the virtues of maturity, determination, and consistency. In the academic world, this means that "promotion" is guaranteed in a professional life conducted without touching on anything controversial, without saying anything new, and thus unsettling. In design, it means starting the profession with an approved approach and continuing it unpretentiously, but along the same lines over a long period of time.

Doruk Pamir, who never worries about maintaining his position, is not meek when it comes to his areas of stubbornness. In Turkey, where individuals who can fight their own individual battles without caring about any kind of social alliance, connection, or public support are exceptional, Pamir is important simply because he is rare. He is also important because he is stubborn through architecture, has challenged the architectural establishment until recent years, and has functioned almost singularly as a kind of focal point of resistance. He is also important because he does not expect future prospects by maintaining his position in harmony with the environment. Especially if that individual, in the same country where empty seriousness easily gains traction, has the wisdom and human warmth to mock himself... Then, based on that personality structure, there is a possibility to think about and examine architecture in Turkey, taking into account the rarity of such individuals. In other words, if such egos were not rare, one cannot help but wonder how the environment could produce broad possibilities for openness and discussion.
