Product Description
Our country is a developing country, and its primary problem is energy. Energy is one of the most important consumption items today and an indispensable tool of civilization. To find a solution to the energy problem, it is necessary to know the existing energy sources, how the country utilizes these sources, and what can be done to meet the energy deficit. Energy consumption, which is one of the most important needs of highly developed countries, is constantly increasing, and it is obvious that this increase will continue in the future. To continue the technological developments we have today and for the opportunities they offer to persist in our lives, we must consume energy directly and indirectly. Electricity is among the primary types of energy consumed. Electricity is a type of energy we constantly use, consciously or unconsciously, in all areas because it is clean, readily available, easily convertible to other energy types, and extremely important for us to maintain our daily lives. This energy is produced using various sources and methods. The book describes electricity generation methods in detail. The book consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, the history of electrical energy, the shares of the resources used in its production, and their current status in Turkey are explained. In the second chapter, the operating principles and current status of power plants that generate electricity using non-renewable energy sources are detailed. In the third chapter, the operating principles of power plants that generate electricity using renewable energy sources, their status in Turkey and worldwide, are enriched with examples. Considering the possibility of typographical errors, omissions, or misunderstandings in the printing of the book, I would like to state that I am open to everyone's opinions for correcting them in subsequent editions, and I will definitely take them into account. With this belief, I hope that the book will be used as a professional resource for courses focusing on electricity generation in the Engineering and Technology Faculties and Vocational Schools of Universities, and that it will also be useful for those curious about electricity generation and for my colleagues. I would like to thank and extend my respects to my family and colleagues who supported me tirelessly during the preparation of this book.
