Intercultural Cinema, Embodiment and the Senses In this work, Laura U. Marx offers a new perspective on cinema; she examines the role of embodiment and the senses in an intercultural framework in light of cinematic practices. Discussing cinema's power to convey the physical sensation of space and culture through the visual medium, the author uses the theories of Deleuze and others to explore how intercultural cinema develops a narrative through the representation of the post-colonial and transnational world. The text, which explains the relationship between visuality and the senses in cinema through haptic visuality, particularly presents important discussions on experiencing cinema with multiple senses and the cinematic representation of cultural memory.
