Product Description
"My homeland is both a 'place' and a 'path'..."
"The Earth carries the seeds of our humanity, and we discover ourselves in living gardens. We reach a deep, happy agreement with the nature of which we are children and with our own 'human nature.' Following the traces of my childhood gardens and the different geographies of the Earth, my landscape readings, which involve perceptions, observations, and endeavors, reflect our belonging to the 'Earth's garden.'"
Dilek Ayman, who has been continuing her work in garden and landscape architecture in Montreal for some time, attempts to describe the geographies she has traveled, following the traces of her hometown Istanbul, the tales she heard from her grandparents, and her childhood gardens, accompanied by photographs, maps, and engravings. In the first part of the book, she starts from Istanbul and stops in Alanya, Paris-Versailles, Montreal, Quebec, and Canada, and in the second part, she continues her landscape readings by traversing the routes of Turkey-Anatolia, Crete, Lesbos, Australia, Maine, Cuba, Bordeaux, Berlin, New York, and Lisbon.
