This long-running work by Sevgi Ağca, Head of the Sacred Relics Department of Topkapi Palace, took on an extraordinary character with the photographs of Bahadır Taşkın, and Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı honored this important book with a foreword.

While preparing the book Hırka-i Saadet - The Chamber of the Holy Mantle with its Organization, Ceremonies and Sacred Relics, the most important archives and collections of our country, such as the Topkapi Palace Museum Archive, the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts and the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives, were used to reveal the unique importance of sacred relics in the Islamic and Ottoman world.

The blessed Hırka-i Saadet, which gives its name to the Hırka-i Saadet Chamber and was passed down directly from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the Hırka-i Şerif belonging to the Veysel Karanî family, located in the Hırka-i Şerif Mosque, were published together for the first time in this book, breaking new ground, and many works that could not be exhibited were also included in the book.

For this important book, an extraordinary binding was designed, inspired by the golden reliquary of the Hırka-i Saadet, revealing all the splendor and depth of Islamic art.
