Mimar Kemalettin: From Empire to Republic

As a product of two years of work, the book, following the footsteps of Prof. Mimar Kemalettin, a retired faculty member of METU Faculty of Architecture, and National Architectural Movements, has been enriched and updated with original documents and photographs from various archives of the General Directorate of Foundations in Ankara and Istanbul and the Prime Ministry archives. The second part, which includes letters written between Kemalettin Bey and his second wife Sabiha Hanım between 1925 and 1927, has been preserved in the book. The first part, "Architect Kemalettin," presents 71 realized and unrealized buildings and designs of the architect, accompanied by 220 original documents, 20 surveys, and 203 photographs. The second part, "Architect Kemalettin and Sabiha Hanım," contains information describing Kemalettin's family and neighborhood; his original letters to his wife Sabiha Hanım, their Turkish translations, and an album of photographs taken by Kemalettin with his own camera.
