Product Description
This book serves as a general overview, perhaps even an accounting, of the works produced since the 1950s by Behruz Çinici, one of the most important creative figures in contemporary Turkish architecture. In developing its content, the starting point was the observation that Çinici's highly individualistic design approach could only be explained by a concept unique to music, such as improvisation. On the other hand, as Süha Özkan, who wrote the book's introduction, states, "Behruz Çinici is the person who has come closest to the definition of 'State Architect' since Mimar Kemalettin, Vedat Tek, Seyfi Arkan, and Sedat H. Eldem." This means that Çinici's versatile and productive professional life has been shaped between the poles of a genuinely subjective approach, formed by a resolute individuality, and a public consciousness defined by a strong sense of duty. Therefore, it can be said that he always sought solutions to difficult dilemmas. Moreover, Çinici has always been able to concretize his search in a remarkable architectural output. The aim here is to present that output to the public.
