Islamic Art of Architecture

The worship of gods and goddesses, who were believed to control the world's natural formations and events and possess sacredness, formed the basis of pagan religions. Far Eastern societies developed beliefs with mystical morality and philosophical depth under the guidance of wise individuals and gurus. Later, with the belief in a single God involved in the creation of the universe, celestial (Abrahamic) religions such as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam emerged. This book examines, from a secular perspective, the monumental works that have served the religious beliefs constructed by societies from the earliest faiths to the present day, as well as the architectural works developed by Islamic countries in line with their levels of life and culture.
