100 Publishing Houses of Istanbul

Publishing houses, which started to operate in Bab-ı Ali from the mid-19th century onwards, have undergone some significant transformations over the years and have continued to exist until today. The first publishing houses in Istanbul began to appear in the 1870s. By the 1880s, there was an increase in the number of publishing houses.

Our book, "100 Publishing Houses of Istanbul", introduces the reader to important publishing houses established from the Ottoman Istanbul period to the Republican era, from the 1960s and 1970s to the 1980s, and from there to the present day.

The publishing houses in the book are listed alphabetically, with their establishment dates, founders, operators, important published works, authors, awards received, and addresses of the publishing houses, and also include interesting anecdotes.
