Welcoming Spaces in Kadıköy's Independent Theaters

Theaters are special venues in terms of architectural design, both in terms of stage arrangement and audience platform, and in terms of acoustic and visual requirements. This book focuses on the reception areas rather than the halls themselves.

When going to a play, people move away from their everyday thoughts and delve into other thoughts about the play and life. This journey into another world can occur directly from the play itself, from the anticipation of the play, or from the spatial characteristics of the reception area.

In fact, while waiting for the play, a process that activates creative thought takes place. This study is based on a similar experience and is inspired by the intense relationship between urban theaters and the street. The book presents reflections from these unnamed, undefined reception areas.
