My lost Istanbul

"My Lost Istanbul" brings together the observations and comments of a young architect in his 20s about Istanbul between 1947 and 1957.
Prof. Dr. Enis Kortan, through his personal memoirs, sheds light on Istanbul and Turkey during political and social periods that were going through a critical phase and witnessed dramatic events. While recounting old Istanbul, Kortan also addresses Istanbul's architecture and urban planning approach with a critical and standard perspective. He dedicates a privileged place to Le Corbusier, one of the most important architects and theorists of the 20th century, who had a great interest in Turkish-Ottoman architecture, enriching his narrative with drawings and photographs. In 1978, Kortan, who mostly focused his research on modern Turkish Architecture, also has books such as "Architectural Movements and Criticism in Turkey", "Turkish Architecture and Urbanism Through the Eyes of Le Corbusier", "Theory and Form in Architecture", "An Aesthetic View of 20th Century Architecture".
