Product Description

Develi, located 86 km from Kayseri in Central Anatolia, is particularly famous for its architectural works dating back to the Anatolian Seljuk period. This characteristic may also stem from its proximity to Kayseri, which was called "Darü'l Mülk" and also "Darü'l Feth" because it served as the capital to the state after Konya during the Anatolian Seljuk period. Develi, with its historical names Bagadaonia-Gabadania-Gavadanek-Develü, has tried to preserve its centuries-old architectural works to this day, but it faces the danger of losing its true identity due to demolished structures and improper repairs and additions.

Until now, information regarding the architectural works in Develi District consisted of a few articles about both Seljuk period structures and those from other periods. This book, viewing previous studies for the region as an important step, sheds light on the formation of Turkish architectural works in Develi District until the early 20th century, with the aim of clarifying structures that had not previously entered the literature. We believe that this meticulously prepared work will be a useful resource for future generations.
