Urban Transportation Terminology Glossary

The Urban Transport Terms Dictionary is one of the first, perhaps the first, work of its kind in Turkish. The study should be considered not only as a conceptual reference under the heading of transportation, especially regarding topics such as management, traffic infrastructure, transportation, energy, environmental and settlement policies, global and local transportation interactions, discourses, and practical and theoretical solutions, etc., but also as a methodological resource that can be kept at hand for different approaches to the subject. Transportation cannot be reduced to merely a technical urban problem and its solution. As both an input and an output of a global system, it necessitates a multi-dimensional and new way of perceiving. This dictionary initiative aims to provide this profound perspective and understanding to those interested in the subject (from scientific circles to operators, students, and transportation users). Moreover, there is a known truth: There is no science without language.
