Urban Economics

This book has been prepared as a textbook and primary reference for undergraduate and graduate students studying in the City and Regional Planning department, as well as for those interested in urban economics. It serves as a supplementary resource for students in Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, and Geography departments.

This book, developed from lecture notes prepared for undergraduate courses taught under the names "Urban Economic Analysis" and "Urban Economy I" since 2006, answers questions such as "Why do cities exist? How do cities grow? How does the urban system work? How is urban land allocated? How do businesses share the market? Where do households choose to locate? Where do businesses choose to locate?" based on microeconomic concepts and economic analysis.

While a simple lecture style has occasionally been adopted to make the topics clear and understandable, the explanations in the book are also supported by graphical representations.
