Product Description
Hüsnü Aksoy's book "Who Will Solve the Riddle of History?", which focuses on leading the reader to new insights by encouraging critical thinking and questioning, has been published as the second book in YEM Yayın's "Life" Series.
Hüsnü Aksoy, who completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in the Philosophy Department of Istanbul University's Faculty of Letters between 1980 and 1986, left the academic world due to disappointment he experienced during his doctoral proficiency exam in the International Relations Department of the same university's Faculty of Economics. Subsequently, his books Introduction to Marxist Philosophy, State and Democracy, Paradoxes of Civilization, and Marxism were published. Hüsnü Aksoy, who set out with the intention of becoming Turkey's first 'Marxologist,' turned his attention to self-discovery, abandoning the conquest of the world, after a shock that forced him to play a different tune by derailing his mind. First, he tried to transcend his current state by revealing the evils he was a part of. But, not satisfied with his post-purification state, he then focused on recreating himself as the person he was to become.
"Yes, one who wishes to be irreplaceable by another must constantly recreate himself, like a work of art. But without resolving the conflict between self-discovery and conquering the world, we cannot become the poets of our own lives. This very question lies at the heart of this book. However, this is not a question that disappears with its answer. On the contrary, it generates new questions, leading the reader to different insights," says Hüsnü Aksoy, inviting the reader in his book to seek answers to questions such as the following:
- Which Wound Is Harder to Heal?
- What Condemns Me to a Single Language?
- Is Conscience a Silent Scream?
- Did I Blind Marx's Fiery Eyes?
- Why Does the Devil Change His Path When He Sees a Madman?
- Did Nietzsche Envy Socrates?
- What Is Zarathustra After?
- Where Is Faust Running To?
- Was Marx the Jesus of Modern Times?
- Is Revolution a Monster That Devours Its Children?
- Is Democracy Just a Mere Ornament?
- Why Has the Riddle of History Not Been Solved?
