Product Description
In his Critique of Pure Reason, Kant stated: "There are two pure forms of sensible intuition as principles of a priori knowledge: space and time." Deleuze interprets Kant's conceptualization as "everything that appears, appears under the conditions of time and space." In simple terms, we can say that an art object also defines two different realities, temporal and spatial. A structural analysis shows that temporality is based on the succession of elements in time, while spatiality gains reality through the simultaneity of elements. In short, spatiality creates a state/possibility of simultaneity in contrast to temporality. The state of simultaneity emerges as a specific fact resulting from an ontological possibility. However, it does not stop there; it opens the door to new modes of expression in all areas of spatial production and creates a broad discursive space for the artist to respond to the world. Today, in addition to disciplines that manifest themselves with temporality like poetry and spatiality like painting, we also talk about disciplines that have a spatio-temporal structure, such as music, theatre, or contemporary art.
