Product Description
In this book, an introduction to geometric pattern analyses, which have been neglected in the Turkic world, was made through Mimar Sinan's Şehzade, Süleymaniye, and Selimiye mosques. The patterns based on squares and hexagons in these three monumental works of classical Ottoman architecture were identified, and their formation principles were gradually discussed in light of different analytical disciplines.
Furthermore, by examining primary sources on geometric patterns in Islamic art and worldwide research and publications, the history of geometry and geometric patterns was presented with a holistic perspective within the historical process of Islamic science.
