Four Elements of Architecture and Two Conferences

This book, which could be named "The Four Elements of Architecture and Two Conferences," brings together Gottfried Semper's most important works on architecture and style. Semper is considered the greatest theorist of architecture and art in the 19th-century German-speaking world. In this book, we publish the author's work "The Four Elements of Architecture," along with his 1854 London lecture "On Architectural Symbols" and his award-winning 1869 Zurich lecture "On Architectural Styles," all of which cover the full scope of Gottfried Semper's application of style in architecture.
