History of Architecture

The history of architecture has long served architecture in its development: first, in the application of academic teaching, then in the practices of eclecticism (in the 19th century) and modern mannerism (today), or in the context of heritage preservation. Recently, the history of architecture has become a goal for the cultural legitimacy of the architect, whose authority is questioned with an increasingly specialized division of labor in project conception and supervision. This study tells the story of architecture, evolving from humanity's need for shelter to a high artistic form.
