The foundation of architectural education is based on learning to see. The knowledge gained throughout the education enables us to see the environment from different perspectives, with different glasses, in a completely different way. This time, we looked at architectural structures through the lens of "intertextuality," a tool used in literature for analyzing, reading, and interpreting literary texts. This study is about re-reading/re-interpreting architectural structures, which are considered textual representations, based on the premise that architectural structures are also texts. We started the study by interpreting the architectural equivalents of intertextual methods that we could associate with the discipline of architecture. These interpretations opened up a whole new perspective for us. Then, putting on our new glasses, we toured historical buildings. This new perspective and our new glasses allowed us to decipher completely different relationships in the restored historical buildings. The number of our sentences increased. It was a very interesting and equally enjoyable adventure. Another enjoyable aspect of this adventure was the potential for everyone to see completely different things, even if they were wearing the same glasses.
