Museum Culture Society

There has been a remarkable increase in the number and types of private and public museums in Turkey. A significant increase in research, studies, and publications is also observed in the field of contemporary museology and museum education, which is an indispensable branch of it. This development in museums and museology is extremely gratifying. The fact that museums in our country are acquiring new functions and starting to use new concepts should be considered a sign of modernization efforts. In this context, new concepts such as cultural diversity, multiculturalism, participation, and opening to society; new establishments such as migration museums, women's museums, religion museums, and children's museums are attracting attention.

Ceren Karadeniz’s book examines and evaluates all these developments. I would like to state that the author, who has worked on museums in the USA, England, and Germany, is a competent expert on the subject and that this book will be beneficial to everyone working in the field.
