Product Description

YEM Publications' highly popular book series "Projects Structures" has re-released its out-of-print books in a more portable size and at more affordable prices, without compromising their content. New books to be added to the series will also be published in the same format, aiming to make quality books accessible to readers at a more reasonable price.

The first book in the Projects/Structures series, "Residences," is a compilation of distinguished residential projects by important architects from Turkey and around the world.

The book presents a total of 34 structures, from mass housing to single-family homes, apartment flats to holiday homes, realized by 30 architects/architecture groups in 20 cities in Turkey and around the world in the last few years. These are presented under the sections "Sites Comprised of Houses," "Single-Family Homes," and "Mass Housing and Apartments."

Some of the projects and their designers featured in the book are:

Bakraz Houses, Faruk Malhan; ExplodedHouse, Gökhan Avcıoğlu; Gülsema-Lutz House, Cengiz Bektaş; Villa Guna, Meinhard von Gerkan; Villa S; Coop Himmelb(l)au; Mountain Houses, BIG Aps; Tekfen Yalıkavak Houses, TRafo Architecture; Pool House, Ushida Findlay Architects; Mutlu House, EPA Architecture; SM House, Mimarlar Tasarım; Yalın Kaya House, Coşkun Karadeniz; Antrium Residences, Mutlu Çilingiroğlu; Carabanchel Residences, Foreign Office Architects.

The projects published here certainly do not claim to be their best works. However, "Residences" brings together successful examples in terms of building typology, the use of modern and traditional building materials, modern construction techniques, adaptation to topography, and so on.

The residential projects in the book are presented with interior designs, specially taken color photographs, site plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, and axonometric drawings, as well as descriptive texts explaining the projects.

Residences serves as a reference book for architects, interior designers, engineers, urban planners, urban designers, and landscape architects, while also providing a valuable resource for architecture, interior architecture, and design students to study selected projects from Turkey and around the world and utilize them in their own design work.
