Projects Structures 4: Cultural Buildings

The fourth book in the Projects/Structures series, Cultural Structures, consists of cultural, artistic, event space, and convention center structures and projects by important architects from Turkey and around the world. The book introduces 29 cultural structures realized in 17 different locations around the world, including Turkey, by 27 architects/architectural groups in the last few years.

The projects published in the book undoubtedly do not claim to be the best works of their authors. Cultural Structures brings together cultural structures such as convention, performance, research, and youth centers; art galleries, concert, opera, theatre, and performance halls, all of which play a major role in the social, artistic, and cultural development of societies.

The projects, which consist of successful examples in terms of building typology, use of modern and traditional building materials, modern construction techniques, adaptation to topography, architectural and urban fabric, repurposing, etc., are presented with specially taken color photographs, site and floor plans, sections, elevations, and axonometric drawings, as well as descriptive texts explaining the projects.

The book Cultural Structures is not only a reference book for architects, interior designers, urban planners, urban designers, landscape architects, and civil engineers, but also a valuable resource for all architecture, interior design, and design students to examine these special projects selected from Turkey and around the world and utilize them in their own design work.
