Product Description

YEM Publishing, which publishes books on architecture, engineering, design, culture, art, etc., has released its book Projects/Buildings 5: Museums.

Museums, the fifth book in YEM Publishing’s “Projects/Buildings” series, is a compilation of museum buildings by important architects from Turkey and around the world. The book presents the designs of 28 museums realized in 22 different locations in Turkey and around the world by 25 architects/architectural groups in the last few years.

The projects published in this book are certainly not claimed to be the best works of their authors. However, this selection that makes up the book Museums presents distinguished examples of these institutions, which aim to illuminate both the present and the future by exhibiting scientific, cultural, and artistic productions created in ancient times and today, as well as underground and above-ground riches, in a broad perspective ranging from archaeology to classical and contemporary art, from beekeeping to oceanography, from automotive to aviation, from maritime to energy.

The buildings, which are successful examples in terms of building typology, use of modern and traditional building materials, modern construction techniques, adaptation to topography, etc., are presented with interior designs, specially taken color photographs, site and floor plans, sections, elevations, and axonometric drawings, as well as explanatory texts describing the project.

The book Museums is a reference book for architects, engineers, urban planners, urban designers, interior designers, and landscape designers, and also provides a valuable resource for architecture and design students to benefit from in their own design studies by examining selected projects from Turkey and around the world.
