Projects Structures 6: Landscape Design

The sixth book in the Projects/Structures series, Landscape Design, is a compilation of designs by prominent landscape architects from Turkey and around the world. The book presents 38 landscape designs created by 28 landscape architects/groups in 25 different locations in Turkey and globally over the past few years.

The projects published in the book do not, of course, claim to be the best works of their authors. The Landscape Design book offers examples of landscape designs that add value to the architectural and urban fabric from functional, artistic, ecological, and other perspectives, using natural, cultural, and structural components.

The book features a wide range of landscape designs and applications at various scales, from the Değirmenaltı Square Arrangement in Alaçatı to the landscape designs of the Anadolu Comfort Hotel in Gebze, from the Banyoles Historic Center Improvement Project in Spain to the design of a mountain house garden in Lebanon, and from a sculpture garden in New Orleans to the repurposing of a disused railway viaduct in New York as a park for local residents.

The landscape designs, consisting of successful examples in areas such as building typology, use of modern and traditional building materials, modern construction techniques, harmony with topography, architectural and urban fabric, and repurposing, are presented with specially taken color photographs, site and floor plans, sections, elevations, and axonometric drawings, as well as explanatory texts describing the projects.

The Landscape Design book serves as a reference for landscape architects, architects, interior designers, urban planners, urban designers, and civil engineers. It also provides a valuable resource for all architecture, interior architecture, and landscape architecture students to study these special projects selected from Turkey and around the world and utilize them in their own design work.
