The ninth book in the Projects/Buildings series, Restaurants and Cafes, consists of selected restaurant, cafe, and bar projects by leading architects and interior designers from Turkey and around the world. The book introduces 30 restaurant, cafe, bar, nightclub, etc. projects realized in the last few years by 23 architects, interior designers (architectural groups) in 15 different locations around the world, including Turkey.

Today, eating and drinking establishments, which are among the most intensely social interaction spaces based on social use, are among the most important structures that complement urban life. When designing these spaces, which are used more and more frequently in contemporary urban life, it is necessary to consider the cultural and psycho-social demands of users beyond their physical needs. Naturally, one cannot expect the same design, purpose, and method for a cafe offering quick snacks at certain times of the day, a restaurant where world-famous chefs prepare special menus, or a nightclub hosting late-night stage performances. The projects published in the book do not, of course, claim to be the best works of their authors. Restaurants and Cafes presents a collection of unique eating and drinking establishments, each offering solutions to the diverse demands of today's urban dwellers, who spend more time "out" than in previous periods.

These projects, consisting of successful examples in terms of building typology, use of modern and traditional building materials, modern construction techniques, adaptation to topography, architectural and urban fabric, repurposing, etc., and especially their interior designs, are presented with specially taken color photographs, site and floor plans, sections, elevations, and axonometric drawings, as well as explanatory texts describing the projects.

The book "Restaurants and Cafes" is a reference book for architects, interior designers, urban planners, urban designers, and civil engineers, as well as a valuable resource for architecture, interior architecture, and design students to examine these special projects selected from Turkey and around the world and utilize them in their own design work.
