Product Description
He learned impressionist techniques at the age of ten. He entered the Royal Academy of Madrid but was expelled several times due to his unruly behavior. Later, he encountered surrealism, a turning point that would define the rest of his life. Deeply influenced by psychoanalysis developed by Freud, Dali made significant contributions to surrealism by developing his critical paranoia concept, to which he remained committed throughout his life.
By 1934, when his painting "The Persistence of Memory - Soft Watches" found its way to the famous Museum of Modern Art, Dali had been part of the Parisian surrealist group for five years. "Soft Watches" became one of his hallmarks; he repeated this image in other paintings, graphics, and stage designs for theater.
