The Story of the Philosophy of Art from Cave Paintings to Digital Images

In this work, phenomenologist-philosopher Emre Şan takes us on a rapid journey through art history. This journey extends from cave paintings to contemporary digital images. Although the course of the study follows a historical chronology, its main purpose is to question the transformations or paradigm shifts within this process, that is, to address the problems that emerge when we look at art history, in short, to reveal the philosophical problems in art.

This work, which serves as a brief guide, draws on Western intellectuals as well as Turkish intellectuals, and offers a unique perspective on Turkish art as well as Western art.
