Product Description
A construction site is a world of its own. No school can truly teach you the necessary practical knowledge, what is expected of you, and what can happen on construction sites.
There's something far more important than practical applications on construction sites: "site management." No matter how well someone knows the practical principles, or how experienced they are, site management is a complex web of relationships that is difficult to undertake. Unfortunately, these are not taught in schools, nor is there time given to learn them through practice. You can only learn by doing, through a master-apprentice method. However, this takes almost ten years. Site Management aims to shorten this period by sharing knowledge and experience. The author, distilling over 50 years of experience, shares with the reader what needs to be done and what can be experienced from the establishment of a construction site to its closure.
The book explains the principles of successful site management from a broad perspective, from selecting the site to providing materials, equipment, labor, subcontractors, etc. to the site; from tendering, contracting, and progress payment methods to establishing and maintaining good relationships with personnel, contractors, supervisors, local administrators, etc.
