Old Edremit houses are typical examples of traditional house architecture in northwestern Anatolia. These houses stand out as a group of structures where the "outer sofa" (harem/private living area) plan type is applied. Additionally, among the old Edremit houses, which are notable for their architectural details and decorative features, Hacı Kabakçılar Mansion and the examples on Çayiçi Street have survived to the present day in a very neglected state. This study describes the general characteristics of selected examples of houses that form the architectural texture and street aesthetics of Edremit. We hope that these examples will be carefully preserved.
