Product Description
The most beautiful reflections of the modernization adventure in the city can be seen in literature and cinema. In this work, we will journey to Kafka's dark city while discussing Kieslowski's Prague in his films. As we wander through Woody Allen's Paris, we will also look at Paris through Baudelaire's eyes, witnessing together the adventure of this city from past to present, through the words of Paris lovers. We will explore places that shed light on human history, such as Istanbul, Rome, Berlin, Saint Petersburg, London, Warsaw, and New York, and we will examine the changes these cities have undergone from yesterday to today, both personally and socially, as we wander their streets and avenues. While strolling with Shakespeare through the misty streets of London, we will visit Jane Austen's town life. As we search for ourselves in Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, we will arrive at today's London. On the snowy London streets of the movie "Notting Hill," as we wander the boundaries of love, we will delve into the metropolitan life of London, also inhabited by people who don't know what they want, are drowned in complicated relationships, and are in search of something, through the film "Closer." In Istanbul, the city that remained untouched by forty thieves, we will pray with Yahya Kemal at "Süleymaniye on Eid Morning" and walk the pavements of Istanbul with Necip Fazıl. After watching the "Walnut Tree" in "Gülhane Park" with Nazım Hikmet and traveling with Sezai Karakoç "From an Exiled Country to the Capital of Capitals," we will close our eyes with Orhan Veli.
