Who is Mimar Sinan? Impressed by the works of the Ottoman dynasty's number one architect, Ann Pierpont embarked on a journey of discovery to learn more about him, his design philosophy, and the era he lived in. Pierpont was very surprised to find that the master's works were not presented with a useful guide, so she took on this task herself. This book presents information about Sinan's masterpieces in Istanbul and other cities in the form of a diary from the master's perspective.

The Haseki Hürrem Sultan Complex, the Hayrettin Pasha Tomb, the Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, the Cafear Agha Madrasa, the Selimiye Complex, and the Hagia Sophia Minarets are some of the monuments examined in the book.
