Hydraulic Structures / Dams, Weirs and Hydropower Plants

Water structures are very important structures that enable the use of water for various purposes by controlling the water in water resources. Due to insufficient facilities, we can only utilize 35% of the potential of our water resources. There are many dams and hydroelectric power plants under construction and in the planning stage in Turkey. In recent years, small-scale HPP structures have also gained great importance. Although Turkey is a very rich country in terms of water resources, the number of Turkish books written about water structures is very small. The book has been prepared to contribute to remedying this deficiency. The content of the book consists of dams, weirs and hydropower facilities. As detailed information as possible on these three very important subjects of water engineering has been provided, along with solved problems. In the preparation of the book, the author, who taught Water Structures courses at Karadeniz Technical University for many years, used his lecture notes and domestic and foreign sources.
