Watercolor Art

The earliest examples of watercolor art, which forms the 3rd book in the Painting Education Series, can be found in the papyrus scrolls of ancient Egyptian civilization, the paintings on silk from Chinese and Japanese civilizations, and medieval manuscripts. Watercolor, applied with a romantic understanding in the 19th century, is no longer an intermediate material but a primary material today.

Watercolor Art was penned by painter Burhan Özer, a graduate of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University's Adnan Çoker painting workshop, who has been conducting workshops and exhibitions in studios, galleries, fairs, on television, and at universities for approximately 20 years.

Özer, emphasizing that watercolor art is a different reflection of reality, a transparency, a translucency, and a poetic quality, prepared this book as a comprehensive resource for art lovers, students, and especially watercolor enthusiasts. In this work, the author addresses the materials used in watercolor, fundamental technical elements, methods and effects, and rules of color and harmony with visual examples. By introducing the pioneers who shaped the history of watercolor and contemporary Turkish and international watercolor artists with examples from their works, the author also achieves a significant first.
